Addiction’s chains are heavy & hard to break.

And the reality is anyone can struggle with severe substance use disorder. In fact, addiction impacts over 20 million people each year in the U.S. alone.

Picture that for a moment: 20 million friends, mothers, brothers, and neighbors with jobs and families and stories. And while addiction’s grip never discriminates, there are proven methods of treatment readily available. But before treatment can begin, those suffering from addiction must first recognize the problem.

What Is Addiction?

Addiction is a disease-state manifested by uncontrollable substance use. In other words, the compulsive use of a drug actually results in rewiring of the brain. So, a normally clear-minded individual will be unable to control cravings over time, losing decision-making and even memory skills along the way. To make matters worse, people with addiction may not even be aware that their substance use is out of control. The body builds a tolerance to drugs over time. This, in turn, results in more frequent use, intense cravings, and withdrawal symptoms. The result is physical and psychological effects of addiction.

What Are the Signs of Addiction?

Symptoms of addiction can be recognized by behavioral, emotional, and physical signs.

Changes in Mood:

An individual may become defensive, argumentative, and moody due to withdrawal and cravings.

Similarly, those suffering with addiction may deny or rationalize their behavior, blame others, or change the subject altogether.

Other behavioral signs include:

  • Acting out of character — obnoxious or silly
  • Unable to handle stress
  • Being easily confused
  • A lack of interest in people and things that were once important

Changes in Physical Appearance:

An individual suffering from addiction may look more pale or thin. Perhaps he or she has a persistent runny nose, repeats him or herself frequently, or seems less hygienic than usual.

You also may notice a change in physical activity — either becoming hyperactive or lethargic.

Changes in Behavior:

Finally, problems at school, work, or with relationships are common.

In many cases, those with addiction miss important events, take more risks, and become increasingly secretive. Other signs include:

  • Financial problems
  • A change in sleep patterns
  • Excess consumption of substances and making sure to have a full supply

How Is Addiction Treated?

If you are worried about a loved one, you may consider gathering his or her friends and family for an intervention in an effort to prompt treatment. Once the problem is addressed, there are many options to begin on the path toward health and healing — and no single treatment is right for everyone. The National Institute on Drug Abuse, however, lists several successful treatment options for drug addiction, including:

  • Behavioral counseling
  • Medication
  • Medical devices and applications used to treat withdrawal symptoms
  • Evaluation and treatment for co-occurring mental health issues such as depression and anxiety
  • Long-term follow-up to prevent relapse Luckily, there is help.

Corebella Health & Wellness

There are plenty of treatment centers to choose from when the time is right — but not all are created equal. With two locations in The Valley, Tempe and Glendale, Corebella Health and Wellness is known for genuine and compassionate care. Among Corebella’s many services, we provide:

1. Addiction Treatment

Corebella provides medication treatment plans, including Suboxone, Vivitrol, and Zubsolv. Our highly trained, board certified providers work with each patient to find the best treatment plan for his or her unique needs.

2. Group Counseling

Patients have access to group therapy sessions with a professional addiction counselor twice each month.

3. Pain Management

Pain management medicine is designed to improve the quality of life of those who are living with chronic pain after an accident or debilitating illness. The treatment of pain is guided by the history of the pain, its intensity, duration, aggravating and relieving conditions, and structures involved in causing the pain.

4. Medical Marijuana

Qualified patients of Corebella Health and Wellness may be enrolled in the Arizona Medical Marijuana Program by our Arizona Licensed doctors.

5. Testosterone and Hormone Replacement Therapy

Addiction wreaks havoc on the human body, including hormone levels. Increasing testosterone or estrogen and progesterone can improve a patient’s overall health and wellness during the recovery process.

6. An Emphasis on Overall Health

At Corebella Health and Wellness, we believe in a holistic approach to treatment and recovery. In other words, all aspects of healthy living — from diet and exercise to sleep and mental wellness — create a solid foundation for long term success.

What to Expect

No single method of treatment is the solution. Instead, patients at Corebella Health and Wellness work with highly-trained, board-certified, and dedicated providers to find the best combination of care for each individual. In taking your first step through our doors, you can expect a kind welcome and to be treated with dignity. During your initial visit, you will meet with a physician to discuss your history and determine your unique needs.

What Makes Corebella Different: Financially

Our compassionate relationship with patients extends beyond our medical services.

We strongly believe finances shouldn’t be a factor in the decision to seek treatment — or the quality of care you receive. That’s why most insurance is accepted at our facility.

But we do more to help.

In the first month of a treatment program, there are a lot of doctor visits: determining which prescriptions work the best, what method of treatment to use going forward, and getting comfortable with the overall transition.

While many outpatient programs charge over $650 each month (without the price of prescriptions and repeat doctor visits), Corebella Health and Wellness’ program allows patients to visit our doctors as many times as necessary to feel comfortable moving forward with treatment.

Further, our initial month includes unlimited group counseling as well as lab testing, which is contracted with almost all insurance plans.

This first month is critical to determine the treatment plan ahead, and with Corebella, this first month is only $250 — regardless of the number of doctor visits, prescription changes, or group counseling. All subsequent months are $199.
